Amanda on a hunt...for a wedding dress
This past weekend my sister-in-law Amanda set out to find her dream wedding dress! And she found it! Amanda, Mom, her maid of honor Kim, and I enjoyed the day trying on dresses for their big day on March 20th! Her dress is beautiful but that is all I can say in case Ronnie reads my blog! ;) It is perfect for her! We tried on some cute bridesmaid dresses too! Here are some pics of her search and then leaving with her dress (no peaking!!!).

Welcome Baby Vaculin!!!
Some of the Vaculin family gals got together to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Brad and Teri's son and Tessa's little brother! :) Her due date is July 5th. We enjoyed an Italitan lunch at Dibz's in Temple! It was yummy! Then we headed over to Shelley's house to open gifts, enjoy cake, and vist! Baby boy items are so ADORABLE!!! It was fun! I can't wait to celebrate Shelley and Brian's baby next!!!

Summertime and OSU
School's Out for Summer!!! Woo-hoo! I finished up my 3rd year of teaching on June 5th and now summer has arrived! I was blessed with a sweet class of kiddos this year and truly will miss them. I pray that next year will be just as amazing! We are losing 2 Kinder teachers on our team to different schools, so we will be a smaller team of 6 people. I will also be a team leader! I am excited for next year and to see what comes!
The day after I finished school I headed to Cameron to help move my little sis to Oklahoma the following day! I am so glad I was there to see Lesley make her move to OSU to start her master's program! The OSU campus is so beautiful! I can see why Les fell in love with it. It was a LONG trip in the car, but worth it! We were reminded of our old family trips that we took, all smelly and tired from the unpacking, as we ate dinner one night! We cleaned (BIG TIME), unpacked Les, made several trips to Wal-Mart, and laughed alot too! There will be several memories I will remember from that trip: walking in and seeing Lesley's stylish kitchen wall paper, Mom's love for Braum's, how dirty the floorboards were as I vacummed, the way Dad hummed and tapped his hand everytime his new favorite song by Kenny Chesney came on, me thinking that Wal-mart already has halloween stuff out...but nope...it was only the OSU Spirit section. WOW! Let me tell you that was alot of orange. Also asking "What is that sound" in the car and coming to find out it was Dad singing...haha! But most importantly how confident Lesley is about this chapter in her life and how, even though we boo-hooed when we left...she continued to look secure! I love that about her! She will do amazing things! GO LESLEY!!!!

I am still alive...
WOW! I kind of forgot about my blog since November! I truly can't believe 4 months has flown by as fast as it has. Since these four months have passed we have done alot. The BIG moment being buying our first house!!! It in in Katy (I am so glad my prayers were answered and I don't have to leave Katy ISD!). We are moving into the Firethorne subdivision. We are so excited! Amanda (Chris's sister) and Ronnie are also engaged. They will become man and wife on March 20, 2010! We can't wait for their big day. And another excited chapter in my little sister's life is coming up. Lesley has decided to go to grad school at Oklahoma State University! It will be strange seeing her dressed no longer in maroon, but in ORANGE! But not burnt orange (ssssss...). I am glad she followed her heart and it lead her there. We are very excited for her too! We have never been to Oklahoma...

Scarlett Rose Barrett
We are very excited that our close friends Will and Miranda welcomed their precious baby girl into the world! Scarlett Rose Barrett was born Sunday! We went to the hospital to meet her last night! She is absolutely ADORABLE! I love her cute little button nose! We are so thrilled for them and can't wait to babysit! ;)

Up...Up...and...Away...
Chris and I, after several attempts, finally were able to take our hot air ballon ride last month. We had such a busy summer with wedding planning, showers, parties, and most importantly our wedding we weren't able to go. Now that we are enjoying life together it was the perfect time! And we had a perfect day! We went on a beautifully clear Tuesday morning with not a cloud in the sky! The temperature was amazing too! It was quite an adventure and a dream come true! We were able to help with the lift off, which strangely left from a Randall's parking lot! Can you believe? It was very smooth and not a high as I thought we would be. The landing was not bad either...just a few hops and then the ground crew was there to hold us down! It was excited because we went right over McRoberts Elementary, the school I teach at! It was at the moment when school was just starting, but my kids didn't get to see me! Enjoy some of our pictures!
Hey Shrimp!
During a recent day trip to Port Lavaca, I was introduced to quite a new experience...Fresh Shrimp! Chris laughed that I had never seen an actual fresh shrimp right from the ocean. I told him I only want to see them clean right before I eat them up! The Abraham men had the honor of getting to dehead the shrimp, while I volunteered to watch and capture the moment with pictures! Chris and I are the lucky recipiants of several ziploc bags of frozen shrimp in our freezer just waiting to be cleaned and cooked...any volunteers?
Antigua Honeymoon
This is a little behind...but here are a few of the pics from our amazingly relaxing honeymoon to Antigua! I wish I was laying on the beach now...

I can't wait for the FIREWORKS!!!!
I had a busy past 2 weeks! Last weekend, Chris and I went to an Engagement Encounter Retreat in Belton! After a long drive to get there, it went ok. We had times of growth, but were a little disappointed in the amount of downtime that we had! We wished they had more speakers and married couples to talk with. It was nice to see that we are very ready for marriage and have alot of the same goals and beliefs for ourselves and our marriage! We had some downtime on Saturday evening, so drove to watch the sunset over the Belton Lake! I stayed in the House of Sarah and Abraham...Abraham was a very fitting place for me to be, huh?

Chris was busy last week studying for his summer class final. He is almost done! I know he is excited, and so am I!!! Lindsey met me on Monday in The Woodlands to do some shopping and go to Sam Moon to look for a few things I needed to get for the wedding! You can get lost in that store with all of the accessories! I loved it and can't wait to go back! We enjoyed the day! The rest of my week invloved wedding planning, along with rain everyday! It had been showering every day, which makes me sad because my Dad prays for rain, but they can't get any! Please pray for rain for the crops! This weekend, Chris and I went to Cameron. We met with the priest that is going to marry us very early on Saturday morning to go over any questions and the mass for our wedding! We then traveled to Taylor, Texas to go to my family's Hyzak reunion. Hyzak is my mom's madien name! It was nice seeing family we don't see to often! Lesley was in Italy still and Lindsey had to work, so I missed having them there like usual! Chris did get to come with me and was welcomed many times to the family! It was a tiring day!

On Sunday, we met with our florist for the wedding. Chris's parents and my parents were able to be there too! Chris and I put the finishing touches on flowers and made final decisions! I would show a picture, but I want you to be surprised...haha! We are excited, because the flowers are a little of both of us! We might have different tastes in some things, but we always seem to come together and compromise! That's what marriage is right...compromise? We are really looking forward to spending the rest of our lives togehter and the closer the wedding gets the more we can't wait for it to get here! I am looking forward to Friday for so many reasons: July 4th, my Mom's birthday, Chris's grilling :), fireworks, and Lesley coming back from her six weeks in Italy! I can't wait to see her and hear about her adventure!!! Especially her trip to Paris and the Eiffel Tower...I was lucky to get a call from her as she was going up to the top. She knows I have always wanted to go there, so I was the lucky one! She looks happy to be there, huh?
